DI Pipe Standards: ISO 2531, EN 545

Selecting the correct standard for DI pipe depends on the project location, the fluid service, and the end client’s specifications. While the mechanical requirements are broadly similar across standards, there are important differences in pressure class designations, dimensional tolerances, and testing protocols.

Pressure Classes

DI pipe standards use different pressure classification systems. EN 545 uses a C-class system (C25, C30, C40) based on wall thickness, while ISO 2531 uses a K-class system (K7, K8, K9, K10):

StandardClassTypical Wall (DN 300)Max. Allowable Pressure (PFA)
